Camp Hospital No.50

L’Hôpital de camp n°50 a été établi en septembre 1918 à Tonnerre son personnel vient des escouades sanitaires n°7, 17 et 38. Environ 300 lits pour servir dans la 16e zone d'entrainement qui a successivement vu la 81e division, la 36e et 80e division. Le personnel de l'hôpital a été affecté par le chirurgien de la section avec environ 10 médecins, 10 infirmiers et 25 hommes. La majorité des cas de soin était à cet hôpital pour des urgences ou des cas bénins le reste était transféré à l'Hôpital de base n°17 de Dijon. Durant son existence, l'hôpital traita 4 120 cas, le plus grand nombre des patients admis en un mois fut en février 1919 avec 835 patients. Il ferma ses portes le 5 mai 1919 et son personnel embarqua de St Nazaire le 15 juin 1919 pour être démobilisé. Pour le situer, il était au niveau de l'actuelle collège Abel Minard.
